I spent a warm autumn day with the Robarts’ on their family farm …. it was snowing in the Drakensberg mountains at the time, if look carefully you can see snow capped mountains in the background. The setting made me feel like I was shooting in another country, it felt so wholesome and rich (dramatic I know – haha), I really love that about this series.

The Weare’s

The Weare’s are a comfortable family, comfortable with each other, clearly firm friends and they weren’t afraid to have a bit of fun together. It’s such a pleasure to work with clients like this as they are so naturally expressive and such fun to work with. They live right on the beach so the location for the shoot was sentimental to them and you can’t go wrong with a great backdrop for family portraits. Big thanks to my super star sisters who helped with lighting and styling for this shoot

Having recently moved to Durban (South Africa) I now get invaluable time to spend with my family, it’s pretty amazing since I have been away from home for 11 years … so I did a shoot for my Mum and Step Dad, I love how they have such fun together. Whilst living in London, I did a shoot with a friend of mine Morley Von Sternberg – Architectural Photographer. We pulled in a few of my friends and played around. Here are some of the pretty raw images I came out with. I like to think of this time as a turning point in how I looked at making images of people.
