Sam & Marc’s Magical Litchi Orchard Wedding

Marc and Sam had their magical wedding at The Litchi Orchard in Salt Rock, KZN. One of the last weddings that the venue was due to hold. It was one of the most fun weddings I have shot because a large portion of the guests were friends and Sam and Marc really made sure that they included me in everything and even asked me to stay and party after – love that! Steph & Josh’s Winter Midlands Wedding

This was one of my ultimate weddings so far, Steph is a close friend of my little sisters’, so I have know her and Josh a fairly long time. I just adore this couple and their awesome sense of humour, Steph and Josh have a common love for football and funny faces (see above) not to mention that they are kinda pretty to look at. They got married at Bellwood, a gorgeous stud farm with so much scope for photos and with these two loving to mess around on camera, it was definitely the best wedding ever! So great also that both of my sisters and their partners were there, just made it all the more special for me. Jacki & Dave’s Winter Midlands Wedding

I was absolutely thrilled when I was asked to photograph Jacki and Dave’s wedding at Farside Farm in Nottingham Road a couple months back. I have know Jacki and Dave as a couple from when they first got together … where I did a shoot for them … and it was such a pleasure to be there to capture their special day. The day was super relaxed and happy and I was out of my mind happy with all of the gorgeous location options for the creative shoots. Hope that these shots bring through the happy vibes on the day. Carolyne and Tony’s – Oyster Box Wedding

This is a small snapshot of Carolyne and Tony’s wedding that I shot at The Oyster Box a few months ago. They love the beach and love food so this was a natural venue choice, with gorgeous views and a delectable 6 course dinner. I love the class and sophistication of the whole wedding and I love the cheeky giggles I managed to get on the creative shoot. NOURISH with Nature

In part two of our Nourish series, Jacqui shares the benefits eating and using food for nourishing our winter skins. You’re welcome xx HONEY: Skin Moisturizer – Honey, when mixed with eggs and some flour, is an effective skin moisturizer. Best of all, it is gently formulated, so it can be used by people with sensitive skin. Mix four tablespoons of honey with a couple of egg whites and a few tablespoons of flour, depending on your desired consistency. Stir the mixture until it thickens. When the mixture is ready, you can use it as a hand and body lotion or a moisturizing face mask, eliminating the effects of dry skin. Antiseptic – Honey happens to contain a good amount of the chemical. It only needs to be released by diluting the substance in water or body fluids. When applied on an open wound, the glucose, contained by honey, is diluted and gradually releases hydrogen peroxide. The substance facilitates your wound’s faster healing. Due to its viscous consistency, it also prevents wounds from sticking to the dressing and the appearance of scars. NOURISH [winter skin and body care]

It’s important to change your routine as soon as you notice even slight differences to it. I got in touch with Jacqui from Accentuate Hair and Makeup to get some tips to nourish ourselves this winter, this is what she had to say. As your skin loses more natural oils and becomes drier and dehydrated you will need to compensate by changing your skincare routine. Even if you are oily, you will still need to ensure your skin is well cared for and nourished. Oily skins will benefit from a lotion rather than a cream. Drier and more mature skins will need to change to a heavier duty cream and of course eye and face serums. Remember to keep you lips nice and hydrated too, lipstick never looks good on dry lips. Exfoliate twice a week to get rid of all the dead skin and allow your nourishing products to sink in – this goes for face and body. Up your water intake, a well hydrated body really does plump out the fine lines and enhance your natural glow. I was asked to photograph Annabel’s Greek Christening a few weeks ago. At first I was unsure what to expect, but as soon as I chatted to Annabel’s mum Nicole, I knew it was going to be beautiful. I find that styled shoots are a great way to ‘refresh’ my creativity, what’s difficult about them though, is to focus when you have so much pretty to look at.
