This is Brittany Kate Designs’s spring range, which I shot at the Durban Botanic Gardens a couple of weeks ago. Love the fun, light feel of the images that compliments the structure and colour palette of her designs.

I find that styled shoots are a great way to ‘refresh’ my creativity, what’s difficult about them though, is to focus when you have so much pretty to look at. I’m kind of like a magpie to these things. So here we are, a small selection of what the team and I got up to at the beautiful Old Halliwell Country Inn a few weeks ago, enjoy.

Did a bit of a test shoot with the beautiful Chelsea, testing out a new idea of teaching portraiture and creative photography. More to come on this toward the end of the year.  Exciting!

This is part 4 of my styled “urban fashion” series … I love the bow-tie accessory and the soft feeling of the all denim look. I chose these shots because I like the obvious way the model is interacting with the camera and the interesting shapes she makes with the poses.

This is part 3 of my styled “urban fashion” series … through my eyes, it’s the softness of the pastel high-low skirt and the absorbed-thoughtful feeling that the images give me, that I like about them. Also, the structure of the hard line of the stairs that juxtapose the look.

I love the cheekiness of these images, the soft lace skirt with denim and lumo accessories really aids the fun feeling too. Shot in a hotel entrance on the Durban Point Waterfront development (We were chased off location by hotel security because we weren’t allowed to shoot in the area … hee hee)
